Voter ID Bill: It is now a requirement to show a valid photo ID at all elections. You will need to bring your driver's license with you when you vote. When voting absentee, you will need to enclose a copy of your ID. If you do not have a driver's license, you can obtain a free Wisconsin ID card from the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. You will need to bring with you your birth certificate, social security card, and a bill that proves your residency. When filling out the application, be sure to check the "For ID Applicants Only" box in order to receive your ID at no charge. The DMV has an office at the County Courthouse. You can also find offices in LaCrosse and Eau Claire.
